When I upgraded my speakers, I moved the old ones to the den to upgrade my home theater. Which meant that I still got use out of them.

I would have loved that too, but unfortunately it didn't work out. I have in my living room wall mounted Avalon speakers, in combination with a KEF pro subwoofer, and Atoll integrated amplifier and a separate Atoll DAC. This combination is technical perfect. When I connected the Avalons Ceramique, the synergy was not there. The periphery did not have enough quality to match the Ceramiques. I hope that explains it David.
I've always had great respect for Paddington because he is amusingly English and a eccentric bear He is a great British institution and emits great wisdom with every growl. Of course I have Paddington at home, he is a member of the family, sure he is from the moment he was born. We have adopted him.

I'd just gently point out that you seem a bit reluctant to trust your own impressions, relying instead on someone else's formulaic "knowledge". Is that how you usually approach things? It's kind of amusing ;)

This is your own fantasy.  You don't know how I treat my own impressions, what knowledge I possess, or where I came by it.

Of course I don't know — I can't possibly know — but what matters is that it doesn't trouble me in the slightest. Unlike people like you, who feel compelled to challenge the very idea that someone might be able to hear differences in USB cable quality, and insist they're wrong. And what's truly remarkable is that you do this without the faintest idea what knowledge or experience they have, or where they came by it ;)

Isn't it rather marvelous? Science, for all its triumphs, still can't explain the simplest of things — why humans yawn, what exactly stirs a gut feeling, or why the fine-structure constant may have wobbled across cosmic time. Yet, bless them, our earnest friends on the forum are quite convinced that a chap like @Harry simply cannot hear any difference between USB cables — because, you see, the physics have declared it impossible... Quite charming, really

If there was ever a time I wish I were still a mod, it would be now. What does all this nonsense have to do with Harry's journey with his speakers? Nothing, it is just more vitriol on both sides.
