But I would never buy an album featuring Jimmy Fallon's voice. The only thing I have ever liked from him is the Fever Pitch movie. His run on the Tonight Show has soured me on the guy.

In her fourth place at the last Chopin competiton we hear a totally differnt pianist which to be expected I suppose.

The Liszt/Chopin disc is good, and I've not heard the others.  Lang Lang sounds better in live broadcasts than in the studio in my experience.

I'm guessing this release must have interchangeable narrations - something that's been done in the past quite a lot.  I remember Peter Ustinov did the same narration twice - once in English and once in French.

In the UK it wouldn't be a question of people liking Jimmy Fallon or not - he would just have about zero marketplace recognition.  In principle it seems like a very composite project with no sense that any of the constituent elements - conductor/orchestra/soloist/narrator - are going to bring any sense of specialism to the performance over and above individual/collective skill.

There is no question that Jimmy Fallon will not bring any sense of specialism to the recording.  He will also bring no skill, as he has none.

Well I know that Smetana wrote his tinnitus, but he used a violin in the work that's famous for it.
