Do you eat the entire apple? Remove the stem? Not eat the seeds? Not eat the center? Discuss.

My wife will cut up one for breakfast. I guess I get half.

Mozart

But does it include an entire half, including the center and seeds?

I find that using a nice makes the apple less pleasurable to eat. Just taking a bite out of it, is reason enough to eat.

My strategy for apple eating has radically shifted, but more on that after a few responses.

Apples are one of my least favorite fruits.  I tend to like the tarter tasting ones, like Granny Smith.

I usually remove the stem, don't eat the center or seeds.  Sometimes I do cut it up in quarters, but usually don't use a knife.

Me too. Most grocery store apples are old and bland, have probably been in storage for years. I'm hoping to get some better ones at the farmer's market. When I want a snack, though, apples are low on my list.

Apple seeds contain a trace amount of poisonous stuff....cyanide if I remember right.

Yes I've heard this also, but when I looked into how many apples it would take to kill me (what I am only going to eat the seeds?), It would take thousands of apples to die from cyanide poisoning. And that is assuming your body digests the seeds, aren't seeds designed to be eaten?

You people don't like red delicious apples? I have a good apple radar, and I can pick the juiciest apple in a store with consistency. Just make sure to wash your apples, I've probably felt it before you ate it.

I like bananas!

Bananas are good in smoothies, adds a creaminess.

Apples are very nutritious with decent level of fiber and low glycemic profile, so I do eat one almost every day.
Favorite variety is Honeycrisp when available........

I cut my apples into quarters then cut out center core with seeds, makes eating less messy
Also have a nice wedge of gouda cheese a great companion.

I have never seen anyone (other than an animal) eat entire apple including center core/seeds, important to
eat outer apple peel/skin for maximum nutritional value

flyingdutchman

Most everything down to the core, but no seeds or core thank you.

My favorites are Pink Lady and Cameos.

I had one of these also but I found the batteries drained really quickly

I eat everything except the stem, including the seeds.

Is this for a school project or something?

And for my science fair entry, I have compiled a survey of how much of various fruits the average person eats. As you can see according to my pie chart, apples tend to get more completely devoured than peaches. However, the banana outstrips all contestants by a considerable margin, and is therefore the superior fruit.

Your data are flawed, since a large, inedible part of the banana --- the skin --- has been left out.

I like bananas, because they have appeal.

My favorite variety is Fuji. Almost a meal in itself.
