Very nicely done, and the performance appeared to be well carried out.  How much rehearsal did you have?

I liked how you took the music from the active motivic "development-within-repetition" (something I am also very interesting in using) at the beginning and throughout the first half, and then the transition (is this a new movement) with the double bass section - all leading to the placid ending.

Well, whenever I get done writing my current piece sometime this year, I'll have the score available so you can see how I'm using some of my rhythmic ideas. I tend to use either odd groupings for effect (mainly just out-of-sync effect), and I'm trying to use creative ways of using groups like quintuplets, but incorporating them into a more melodic mold.

I like the Horn Concerto, btw. Do you foresee yourself continuing in this style, maybe adding a Lachenmann-ish musique concrete aspect, or perhaps touching upon different styles?

Hi Greg!

I think I will keep my "style" in a broad sense but I'm currently also searching for harmonic and melodic depth. I'm not interested in the Lachenmann-ish soundworld. It's not that I don't like his music, but I think there are enough composers who have taken up his ideas and it often sounds quite epigonal.

Still, it must be possible to make music which combines traditional and "Lachenmann-ish" sounds because the sounding surface will not be its main point.

Just a few are. It has no specific reason apart from that I like how the titles sound.   ;D

Here's a really difficult piano piece I already posted a while ago, now I have an incomplete recording. It will be performed and recorded completely hopefully very soon.

In the following recording the first two pages are missing (my equipment dropped down...) and there's a cut (p. 8–10).

You can listen to:

- Grazioso for five Timpani (one player). Isao Nakamura, certainly one of the best solo timpanists in Europe and professor in Karlsruhe premiered the piece, which I was very glad about.

- Talvella for Recorder (alto) and Harpsichord. The piece focusses on very quiet sounds like the tone you hear when one lifts the finger from a pressed key the harpsichord. Here's a score:

- Capriccio for piano solo. This is the one I already posted above, but with a new recording without a cut.

- Hornquartett. A virtuoso piece which focusses on special horn techniques like different ways of trilling and microtones generated by the non-temperated overtones (7, 11, 13).

- Trio for clarinet, harp and harpsichord. Maybe the most "romantic" piece I wrote. Lyrical passages alternate with playful ones. Score:
