Not everywhere, just where they appear.

Quote from: KevinP on February 01, 2025, 05:53:09 AMNo idea. I still support a couple.

I go to two brick-and-mortar stores that sell CDs. One is mainly vinyl these days plus used books: CDs mostly used, non-classical CD inventory good, classical CDs mediocre at best.  The other is a new/used bookshop that has a large inventory of (mostly) used CDs: non-classical inventory good, classical again weak.

So artwork on classical CDs would not be a big factor.  :'(

Very nice - the windmill like motion of the dancers in a circle representing the four quarters of the year, the tail ends of the maidens' skirts 😎. Plus the swastika facing that way is a Hindu symbol for the Sun and thus entirely appropriate 🌞.

Worst composer image ever?! I suppose it could be Debussy's gardener.
You must have a very good opinion of yourself to write a symphony - John Ireland.

I opened the door people rushed through and I was left holding the knob - Bo Diddley.

Of course, the real problem is the concept. The cover just follows that.

Honestly though, morbid curiosity tempts me to check it out.

For track listing (which has to be seen):

This disc is actually pretty good. In fact, some of the pieces are excellent like the Mozart Piano Concerto.

I definitely recommend giving it a listen.

I enjoyed all the tracks. :-)

I don't need to hear it. I've heard Bill Bailey do the theme to Downton Abbey as reggae, and nothing can top that memory.

I'm trying to remember where I saw him on....maybe on Graham Norton?  I did find a clip in which he played the theme to DA...a very clever and talented person!

Very likely, as he's been on there a number of times.

I've seen him live on stage 3 or 4 times I think, he's toured Australia quite a lot.

He was also a regular guest on QI, at least when it was hosted by Stephen Fry (perhaps also in the Sandi Toksvig era).

It's a comedic quiz show that's been on the BBC for more than 20 years now.

Each week, the host (initially Fry, then Toksvig) invites a panel of four celebrities, mainly comedians, to answer questions on all sorts of (trivial) issues. Alan Davies is a permanent panellist, and is expected to get the worst scoring in each program.

It can be very funny.

Here's Alan Davies (second from the left, with long hair) at the top of his game:

Thanks for that link!  As an aside, I've watched Alan Davies in at least one show (that they played on PBS).  It was a mystery one in which he played a private investigator and had a female partner...am forgetting the name of it at the moment.

Jonathan Creek where he is a magician who uses his knowledge of stagecraft to figure out how the crime is done?

Yes, with Caroline Quentin (when I watched it) though I see that Julia Sawalha joined the cast after Caroline Q left (don't believe that I've any of those episodes?).  I do love my BBC/PBS.  ❤️

It goes downhill pretty steeply after Caroline left.
