@Luke
Really sorry to read such awful news about your wife. Thinking of you both in these extremely difficult times.

A very difficult situation, I'm sorry. @Luke I wish your wife and you and your family well.

At one time, I listened to Op. 106, version after version, during the night raids. Not different sonatas, not by different composers, just this one.

(poco) Sforzando

Dear Luke, I am so sorry to hear this devastating news. As one of the people on this forum we all esteem most highly, I am sure you can turn to all of us for whatever support we can possibly provide.
"I don't know what sforzando means, though it clearly means something."

Luke

Thank you all so much. This place, with its detachment from the awfulness of 'real life,' feels like a refuge, now that I feel up to joining in a bit again.

I can't begin to express the sadness I feel at hearing this news, and my sympathy. I'm glad that music has allowed you to achieve some sense of calm in the midst of it, which you no doubt need to support your wife, your family and not least of all yourself. Despite my love of music, I'm not sure I could draw from it in the circumstances you describe.

I remind myself that being alive is a temporary state of affairs, and some people, at some point in their lives, find out just how temporary. It does not mark a fundamental change, rather a recognition of a reality that was always there.

@Luke I'm so sorry to hear what you and your wife have been going through.  Much strength to both of you.
