This is simply a wonderful journey back to my youth, thanks so much Bill, I always enjoy your posts and thoughts on music. Aces!

Thanks, Leo.  Definitely a kick finding these gems and even a bigger one spinning them on my table.  Let the "high fidelity adventure" (literally) continue.

Not for everyone to wake up to, but for some reason it is working for me and my first cup of joe.

Entering into the weekend VERY slowly and this is the perfect fit for my morning start.

Complete "shaded dog" coolness to the start of my day.

Had to pull out something a bit soothing this morning as I am trying to merge into the cooler early A.M temps here. This Denny effort should do the trick nicely. Looks as if I am at least the third owner of this gem.

Featuring the likes of Mambo #5, this lp makes you feel like you are sitting at a table for two twenty feet from the music.  Grab one of these if you see it in the bins as the music is simply electrifying.

Hope you weekend finds you well. Mine is obviously still on track with this wonderful lp. Says on the back: "This is a new Orthophonic High Fidelity recording designed for the phonograph of today or tomorrow....You can buy today, without fear of obsolescence in the future."

The addition of the Gene Lowell Singers on this fabulous (cannot not be overstated) lp is the true treat here. I wish I could track down more about them. They almost sound like the folks that sang the Flintstones or Jetson themes. Also, Hal Mooney's arrangements are top flight and will make your speakers stand up to attention. Oh, and bongos can be found here as well.

I have found that as I continue to listen to Denny's output my appreciation to what he brought to the table continues to grow. Albums like this one make this journey through his exotic sounds absolutely wonderful.

I had to shell out $0.53 above sticker price for this Riddle, but worth every penny as this one simply swoons from my speakers.

Huge fan of crime jazz, but also love reading pulp crime and noir selections. Occasionally planets align.

Maybe my favorite title for an album in the RCH/lounge world and have lifted the needle and let Andre Previn's track, "Like Young", swing three times in a row.  If you own this one, you understand.
Also, always a treat to hear Shelly Manne on the drums.

A wonderful pair here. Though the "hypno" cover edition might look more attractive, the "Hollywood, Broadway, and Television" platter seems to hold together more. Either way, think big band with an overlay elevator-esque orchestral strings. The "hypno" throws in some random sound effects such as barking dogs to seagulls and traffic sounds while the "orange burst" mostly garnishes with interesting percussion. Plus, the later has the themes to The Untouchables and Mr. Lucky!

I enjoy listening to classical music outside of my "lounge" genre based music. When gathering lps in the classical music realm (you want to talk about crates of records that go untouched in stores) I navigate toward mono recordings save some Mercury pressings that I just love. My taste for sound may be considered flawed by some, but that is the way it is. However, I decided to do a little test driving today with two RCA pressings back in the "lounge" world and I have to say that in this case the Living Stereo is a much more enjoyable listen for me.

The Denver area has two big record shows per year. On my recent pilgrimage I was almost shut out until I decided to dig through one last batch of 45's. $3 later I was heading out the door feeling that my trip was justified as this suite delivers some over the top "out there" music. Would love to now find the full lp.

Another pairing that I was pleased to put together. The book is from '59, so came out early in the tv run. I just love this Robert McGinnis cover and included a photo of the fabulous back cover.

Hey Bill, I assume you know Caro Emerald and Grand Mono? Definite hints of Riddle, Mancini, etc there.

No, I do not, but just pulled both in for a youtube sample and enjoyed what I heard, Ken.
