New to classical music!

Hello all, I have never listened to classical music before.. I booked a trip three days ago to Austria which is somewhere I have always wanted to go to. I then listened to the blue Danube and it made my heart go somewhere it has never been before, I nearly cried. I then thought to myself ... if I feel like this after one classical song surely there must be more that I would love...? Where do you recommend I start?

That's a lovely waltz tune! I suggest explore more Johann Strauss II, Johann Strauss I and maybe even some piano waltzes by Chopin, Brahms etc. or you could dive in to some Boulez, Gesualdo, Xenakis, Machaut....... I don't what you'll like really.

Often the polling station is an area of the forum which is great to check out to see what composers and pieces of music we like here on GMG!
