I don't really have an interest in this young person per se. I don't want to say anything about the music since I can't really listen to it. But, I'm wondering if it's ok to critique it or if it's better to treat it specially, since it's made by a kid. What do you think? Should she be treated as an adult? Or kid gloves?

She should be given space to mature and develop her craft, without being used as a tool for stylistically conservative ideologues (and this has been the biggest problem that has arisen regarding the kind of platform and reach she has been given). I remember thinking from the time Deutscher began to be heavily promoted a long time ago, on a forum far, far away, that there was something weird going on, not with her specifically, but with the people around her and her "fans". I don't want to use the word "cult", but there is a serious devotional quality to the way she is protected from seemingly any and all potential threat to her development along a prescribed course.

There's a lot of negativity on her YT pages. The media stuff is predictable but there's a strange politics to her promotion. She's just a kid so I feel bad being critical but, on the other hand, there's an agenda in here somewhere coming from the adults. It's troubling. and it doesn't seem very good in the long run for young talents to be subjected to that kind of pressure. 12 years old is certainly far too young to be thinking you're right about everything. Aside from that, I don't want to be told what music is by people also telling me I must agree because it's coming from a cute child.
