Men profess to be lovers of music, but for the most part they give no evidence in their opinions and lives that they have heard it.  ~ Henry David Thoreau

Pun intended?

Pun non-existent. That was actually the Sun rising over the Earth. :)

(Do the guys who narrate these things moonlight as golf announcers?)

Well, they are not television commentators as such. If you really want true, unbridled excitement along amateurish commentary, watch the recording of the trial launch of the Dragon X capsule, especially when the visual of the payload doors opening comes in solar arrays are deployed.

Any painting by Johannes Vermeer is a masterpiece, but I especially like these a lot:

He probably stopped the performance and tried to confiscate the camera right after the photo was taken.  ::)

Well All!  I'm trying to find some 'things' to do in my early retirement - I have plenty of non-medical interests, such as woodworking; BUT, when I was a teenage in the 1960s, I did have 3 yrs of accordion lessons - SO, a few months ago I decided to buy a 'cheap' accordion (shown below - about $500 from a place in CA - made in China w/ German reeds) - now my accordion from a half century ago was a Hohner made in Germany - now about $2K or more - BUT, I'm having a LOT of fun re-learning & playing this instrument that does not sound too bad - I'm not that good nor will be but the sound of playing some of the American classics is a pleasure - BOTTOM LINE - having some fun!  Dave :)

True. My favourite is the one he painted soon after the WMAP results were announced. ;D

In fact, this was a 2012 Royal Mail stamp and postcard. I purchased the postcard several days ago and I'm going to frame it, because, you know, Delius is my favorite composer and all that good stuff. 8)
