I'd like to visit the Shire. I'd need wifi, though.

Nah, bro, you got two more movies!

I'm also chuckling at the captioning, even while I understand how the software is taxed here. "You are a sealed over there" for "You are Isildur's heir."

Apparently Cassie and Carly have a rather wider fanbase than I would have expected:

Quote from: Nunc Dimittis on July 06, 2023, 01:37:49 PMThen there are the reaction videos to another reaction video.  I like to cook, so the videos of professional chef James Makinson reacting to a reaction video made by a comedian, who has created a character called Uncle Roger, reviewing the likes of Jamie Oliver, Rachel Ray and Youtube chefs are quite fun - the food being made in some of those videos, though, not so much fun.  See here for an example

I love to cook too, so I recently ran across some of J.M.'s videos--not just the reaction ones, but some straight cooking ones of his giving tips and showing him making some dishes--which are quite helpful.  Besides being on youtube, he also posts instructional ones on Twitch (which I hadn't heard of before).  I can understand why he no longer wants to work 12-hour days in restaurant kitchens!  Looks like he has a fair number of subscribers and the view numbers of videos are often in the hundreds of thousands (with some over a million views).  Hope that this works out for him.

On that topic here is Mythical Kitchen hilariously roasting Gordon Ramsey's absolutely terrible attempt at a grilled cheese sandwich:

I'll have to watch the Pro Chef reacts!

Um, yes, that grilled cheese doesn't look melted--as in when you cut into it and pull the halves apart, it should be "gooey" inside.  :(  And choices of cheese?!  ::) And burnt bread?!  :'(

I did find Mythical Kitchen's recipe for the chipotle bacon jam online and if anyone's interested, I could provide a link to it over in the eating thread; it looks quite simple, but it sounds tasty (there are more complex ones online, but I'd be tempted to try this one first).

p.s.  For those who haven't watched their video online, he spreads a modest amount of it between his cheese slices.

I never ever thought I'd see young people reacting to this song from this group.

When I first heard this in the late 60's I knew I was discovering something which might be described as the importance of being seriously wrong. In a just world guitarist Leigh Stephens would be (as the saying goes) gently but firmly shot at sunrise for this abomination.

I say let's call it "outsider art" to dignify it a little and justify the influence it had on me.

A while ago I searched for The X-Files reaction videos on Youtube and found the channel Jules Reacts. Juliette from Australia reacts to a few TV shows including The X-Files. She had reacted to about 60 episodes already and I binge-watched those and now I watch her new video whenever one drops (every six days it seems). She is currently near the end of season three.

I really hate the genre and hate their clickbaity stupid expressions on the thumbnails.  Who cares what some YouTube rando thinks about something?  I get particularly annoyed by the pretentious titles these people give themselves like 'professional composer reacts to Bach'  or whatever

Now get off of my lawn

I like it best when I can learn some things--like from a professional chef.  And sometimes just for a good laugh.  :)  But, yes, life is short and one has to make decisions how to spend ones time--what matters.

FYI those terrible thumbnails are there because it drives up views.  The same thing for clickbait titles.

Sure, and as with all things Internet, it ends with a Hitler reaction video

That has to be one of the worst I've ever seen!  That is lose your faith in humanity kind of thumbnail.
