I fold Origami.  Here is a Wooly Mammoth I folded today.  One sheet, no cuts.

Fun! Is this something you are able to do freehand, or is there a pattern to follow? I have never attempted paper-folding crafts before.

I folded from diagrams.  I have created a few of my own models, but it is pretty rare.  It is much more challenging and time consuming to create your own than to fold someone else's creation.

I'm researching stocks. My Codefendant might buy something for herself so I have to find something she wouldn't mind owning. Ideally it would resemble a small furry animal, something cute and cuddly. Unfortunately those are rare and "overbought".

Tied up the final pieces to this model of the Queen Anne's Revenge today. A decent and not too long activity, with no less than 40 cannons.

Oh, neat!  Have you put together many models?  And what interested you in this particular ship?  :)

Making myself go through and get rid of some old bills and paperwork; cooking (made some yummy potato and leek soup and hope to make some spaghetti and meatballs today); and possibly go for a good walk today (now that we have a short break from snow/rain and it's not bitterly cold outside).

My wife usually picks out crafts for the family or herself. She generally likes fantasy-themed projects, although high adventure ranks favorably too.

Otherwise, family model-making is relegated to Legos, although we have some tiny structures scattered about the house as well.

I spent all evening cleaning out my walk-in closet.  That finishes my project of cleaning up my closets and junk drawers.  Spread out over a year.  Good to accomplish the goal! (except the storage shed, but we won't talk about that...)

I have spent this morning filling my car with manure! Free and even served with a cup of coffee. Ache all over, especially muscles laid dormant for decades!

Cool [not the part about muscles aching]!

I trust that you were very careful filling your vehicle?   ;)

Shoveled snow here (more of an icy slush) and put some sand/salt mixture down.

Earlier watched some of the tennis from the Australian Open (live).  Sadly "my guy", Carlos Alcaraz, was defeated by Sasha Zverev in the quarter finals.

So anyway I bought a stock, GAIN, a typical income investment (6.6% yield). It's a BDC which loans to businesses and is OK. I've owned it in my own account for 7 years and unusually it has grown by 49%. Now Somebody Else will get the benefit.

    From Investopedia:

A business development company (BDC) is a type of closed-end fund that makes investments in developing and financially distressed firms.

Many BDCs are publicly traded and are open to retail investors.

BDCs offer investors high dividend yields and some capital appreciation potential.

BDCs' heavy use of leverage and small or distressed company targeting makes them relatively high-risk investments.

The most famous and holy BDC is Main Street Capital (MAIN), which I've owned since 2013.

That brings back fond memories!  :)
My father grew all the family's vegetables and from time to time he'd hitch up the trailer to the car and we'd drive a few hundred yards down the lane to one of our neighbours who farmed cattle, and load up the trailer with enough manure to last many months. I found something strangely satisfying about the whole process, and took great pleasure both in his pleasure, and a sense of having replenished the larder.

A double win. Bracing exercise and vegetables grown naturally without chemicals and far more tasty then those purchased from a supermarket.

Indeed. When the word 'organic' started being bandied round as a selling point by supermarkets et al in the late 70's/early 80's (?), I realised we'd grown up with organic vegetables without ever really realising there was a distinction. We just called them vegetables ..

Lovely!  And I love his message!

I'd love to make one of these "guys".

There's a craft store in a neighboring town.  I wonder whether or not they sell the paper?  And I'd need to find instructions--either online or a book.

Hmmm...the one from Reddit didn't come up.   :(
