1) Purchase and restore Portmeirion to its mid-1960's appearance.

2) Hire available locals to staff The Village.

3) Offer retired/resigned intelligence officers discounted housing.

4) Want information.  >:D

A great series, even more relevant today with cameras - owned privately and by governments - floating around everywhere.

So far, no "Rover" balloons to smother and capture The Unmutual People!

While much of the subtext naturally eluded me, it was fun to watch as a boy. I loved that Lotus McGoohan drives in the opening credits, the automatic doors, the " tech " which shows up in a couple of episodes, Rover and - most of all - "Fall Out". I wonder what they paid to use the Beatles' All You Need is Love, which was still current on Top 40 radio when the episode aired.

Too much political ham-fistedness, but OK overall.

For a second I actually wondered what the German " Winte Dier" might mean in English.

The first few seasons were so, so fresh and funny, but once it sort of all became a romcom we lost interest. Apparently there was behind-the-scenes drama with writers that affected this, which is just too darn bad. Those first three years or so are such tremendous fun.

I am on my third time through the series and while there are characters I don't like (Gerald's girlfriend, for example), I find the quality to be remarkably consistent throughout the series.

Third time! That's commitment  ;D nah I have thought about going back and starting over for round 2 sometime. Maybe this is the push to get (re)started this fall.

By the way, a friend of mine just went to Cincinnati. He said he landed at the airport, called an Uber, got in the car, and the driver said "welcome to Cincinnati" and played the WKRP theme song on the car stereo  ;D  ;D

There's something very special about this show. So many great, unique characters, from Mr. Kim (my favorite), his friend (the one with the dog), Kimchee and the ultra nerdy Shannon, who seems right out of a SNL skit.

Comedy shows that I like I tend to watch over and over again. Stuff like Larry Sanders, Arrested Development, IT Crowd, Norm MacDonald Live, King Of Queens, Joe Pera, Snuff Box and Alan Partridge.

I watched the reruns of that show growing up. What a great show! A shame they had to drop many of the music samples used when putting out the DVDs.

Plucking this one out of your list because I don't have any "real life" friends who know or watch Joe Pera so I need to talk about him! Joe Pera is such a unique presence. It's so amazing that he has a "gimmick" stage character but then that character is not really the reason he's so funny...it's kind of like a little bonus. His free standup specials on YouTube give me such joy. And of course as a food guy, I'm always trying to get the perfect bite  ;D

Yeah, his show, his standup special, it's all incredibly unique, fresh, down to earth and somehow also "out there." I'll be keeping an eye out for whatever he does next.

I didn't mention KILL TONY because it's technically not a TV show, but it is on every Monday night. Off the wall, no holds barred comedy. Not for the feint at heart, but for those who like this kind of thing it is very, very funny. It's free on YouTube and all the old episodes are up there too. Tony Hinchcliffe, the creator and host of the show, killed at the Brady Roast. He had be writing for the Comedy Central Roasts for years but never got a chance to be on the Deus. Really dumb move on Comedy Central's part, for Tony is one of the best Roasters out there. Just check out his Roast of Snoop Dog on Youtube  I'm a huge fan of the Comedy Central Roasts, so it was great to see them come back on Netflix. Nikki Glaser was great on the Brady roast too. Here's most of Tony' set from that roast:

Loki, Season 1 (2021)
Tom Hiddleston, Owen Wilson

Loki sets up a sort-of Hitchhiker's Guide / Brazil / Terry Pratchett world, but doesn't follow through in lieu of plot.

Richard E. Grant showing up in yellow underwear is well worth the price of admission.

I'm watching Presumed Innocent. I see Bill Camp, I watch. Peter Saarsgard plays an asshole like he was designed for it. You want to smash his smirky face in and not even in a nice way. I think maybe 8 episodes is a little on the draggy side.

Posted the pic before I read your post. Yes, Saarsgard's acting is very impressive, though his hero seemed less obnoxious towards the end. Overall one of the most suspenseful series of recent times, in the last episode I could barely resist to skip forward to see what the verdict will be.

I am really enjoying this series. At times it reminds me of Miami Vice, at other times Better Call Saul and in other ways it reminds me of Mr. Inbetween. I have two episodes left.
