Spatial distortion is a serious problem deteriorating headphone listening.
Crossfeeders reduce spatial distortion and make the sound more natural
and less tiresome in headphone listening.

A fantastic recording — Samara Joy not only keeps up her pace but gets even better, though it seemed like there was nowhere left to improve. It's a rare jazz album these days that isn't ruined by all the ridiculous hip-hop influences, the fight for the rights of made-up minorities, political agendas, and other nonsense. Released today.

Last time I listened to this album on LP was sometime in the late '70s. And now, again, after several decades. A fantastic recording!

I bought this back when it came out. Putting lyrics to Monk tunes really helped me understand the melody lines.

The original version of this is hard, experimental, wildly inventive jazz. Quite amazing. In a later revision, he added weird, goofy, avant-garde, pseudo-classically sung lyrics. Avoid like the plague.
It's all good...

Sad that we lost her too early (2017) at age 60.  Excellent pianist, here accompanied by the excellent rhythm section of Dave Holland and Jack DeJohnette.
