Will you still need to get the latest vaccine (if you hadn't already).  If so, how long do you need to wait?

Had my Covid vaccine today...yay!  When I called the pharmacy back today (shortly after they opened), I was told that I could just walk in and that they probably wouldn't be busy around the time that I wanted.  All went well.  Also, I had a flu shot.

I got the same shots on Sep. 14th. My only reaction, other than mild soreness in my arms where they pricked me, was a mild headache.

Had my shot a few days ago, no adverse reaction at all. The Flu jab I will get in November.

The flu vaccine for seniors is supposed to be quadrivalent, meaning it protects against 4 different straing of the flu virus. An adjuvant is an additive that acts to kick the immune system into high gear.

So far I don't think I've had any systemic reaction - just a very sore arm (I had both shots in the same arm).

Interesting.  And thanks for the explanation.  So, I'm getting the impression that you're more like to have an initial reaction to the flu shot?  I had mine done on different arms.  Lately, I've been sleeping on my left side, so I decided to take a different approach this year and had the Covid shot in my right arm (which is my dominant one).  That arm has a sore spot (about the size of a half dollar), but doesn't hurt when I move it; I only notice it when I touch it...and I know, "So, don't touch it!"   

Flu shot has never bothered me (so far anyway....Knock on wood/Touch wood).

My arm is still very sore, I decided to forgo my PT exercises this morning (for a rotator cuff issue), and I had a slight systemic reaction yesterday evening - felt a bit feverish, a few myalgias (legs and back mainly), but I'm back to normal this morning except for the arm.

It was probably a mistake to get both shots in the same arm, but I have a history of vaccine injuries in my left arm, thanks to CVS techs injecting into the rotator cuff instead of the deltoid (twice).

I will not, EVER, go back to that same CVS for a vaccination.

So sorry to read of your medical mishaps.      Is all the physical therapy due to the screw ups?

My upper arm is still slightly sore, but it is getting better.  I don't remember it taking it this long, but perhaps I wasn't paying so close of a attention?  In any event, most of the pain went away in about a day to two days....so all is good.

I wouldn't say it's been gorgeous here... we've had some very cold temps, well below freezing until mid-morning. The last real hike I did was a group hike two weekends ago along the summit ridge of Paine Mt., a point to point hike on which one of the hikers had a recurrence of a painful injury and had to be given directions off the mountain by the hike leader. The next day I had a recurrence of an old back injury and am only now getting over it, though I did a ski hill climb on Sunday despite it.

Yesterday morning we even had a light dusting of the S-word... might as well say it, snow, it's definitely coming. Time to get the winter tires on my car!

Glad your vaccine reaction is subsiding too - best to remind oneself of the benefits, even during the worst of it.

I have had flu and covid shots on same day before. Shingles is, of course, new. I looked it up before going and saw it was okay. I then asked the pharmacist, too, and she said it would be fine.

We shall see.

Ah, of course!  lol

It's the next day for me--in terms of when my arm is *pretty sore.  And of the shots that I've had over the past few years, so far it's only been the Covid shot that has bothered me.

*This last one:  It took longer for the pain/soreness to go away.  It lasted for about 3-5 days.
