Quote from: NumberSix on October 14, 2024, 01:06:56 PMI went to the grocery store this morning. (Yay, me)

I was sitting here just now listening to the Grateful Dead, and I was craving a bologna sandwich -- don't judge.

So I went into the kitchen. Turns out I bought bread, mayo, and even tomatoes for slicing.

And no bologna or turkey.  :o

I made peanut butter and jelly, which is fine -- but it's not the same.  ::)

I had a turkey and beef bologna sandwich for lunch! I'm just trying to save money because of the speakers... but it was pretty good. I like to use this sub dressing. It really elevates the sandwich. Even a bologna sandwich!

What's the sub dressing?

Waiting on my yam to get closer to being done before cooking the rest of my dinner.

Beano's... is an olive oil-based dressing that really makes you feel that you're at a sub shop.

I swear, not sponsored! ;D

Random thought:

There's a radio comedy sketch show from the late 80s called Saturday Night Fry, starring Stephen Fry, Hugh Laurie, Jim Broadbent, Emma Thompson, and friends. A six episode set can be had on audible for cheap. (I think 5 of the 6 eps are on youtube, too, last time I checked)

I bought it on audible over a decade ago, and I still listen to it regularly. It's great for setting a 20-30 min timer when going to bed.

I found one of them for free (No. 1), so will give it a shot.

Quote from: drogulus on October 14, 2024, 01:26:05 PMThe stone is 1.8cm. I didn't know they came that big. If it starts to move I'll probably have to have lithotripsy.

You can be in horrible pain from a 5mm stone. That happened to a friend that screamed on the way to the hospital. I had a 5mm one that hurt like hell before they sonic boomed it.

According to a family member who's also lived with kidney stones for decades, extra-virgin olive oil and lemon juice can help with some stones, depending on size and location.

Currently checking all the files I bought from Chandos made it to my music player before the download server gets turned off in a month.

Having lunch at work. Nothing special, just some microwavable spaghetti from the supermarket.

I'll make up for it at Sunday breakfast tomorrow.  8)

The eggs are likely to come roaring back tomorrow morning ( searches for a " Roaring Eggs " emoticon and falls to find one...).

From the quick looksie that I had when I googled photos, it looks lovely!  Will you be doing any hiking around there, or???

Not much hiking this time, just strolling through both the old and new parts of the city. Both are absolutely lovely.

We've visited it lots of times, it's one of the most beautiful Romanian cities and also close to both Bucharest and our countryside residence.

I'm taking the advice of the financial doomers by preparing for the end of everything. They say to prepare for it. Often the preparation consists of going in or out of cash now!

I'm sure they're right. You must prepare. I have my own way of doing that, though, which isn't entirely in line with stocking up on ammo and canned goods. What I do instead is nothing. That's the plan, Stan, to do nothing as hard as I can for as long as it takes.

I spent all day cleaning the house and doing laundry, and then I went to a memorial service.

Sounds like a rough day.  I'm so sorry about the person that you knew.  It must be hard and draining.

All the best,

I didn't know him that well (I only talked with him a handful of times), but I'm friends with his son and that is why I went.
