I have the Buchbergers in the Op. 50, which I do enjoy.

I felt like they rushed it too much, especially the Bb #1. However, they are my go-to for Op 1 & 2, :)

Are the Auryn Quartet complete Haydn recordings available as a set yet, or just via individual volumes?

I have never seen a set although I know from a reliable source that there apparently were boxed sets sold either at their concerts or at the German music school (Detmold) where they are/were Quartet in residence. This was about 10 years ago when the set was fairly new (it appeared around the 2009 anniversary, I think.) But the general public is apparently supposed to buy the rather expensive Tacet volumes.

Nope. If you want modern recordings on modern instruments, you can find the Angeles Q set used for $100 on Amazon. And they are excellent performances. Sadly, both Auryn and Leipziger have remained expensive for CD and download purchases.

Tacet rarely does box sets, it seems. E.g the Koroliov Bach recordings are AFAIK also still single volumes (of 1 or 2 discs).

The Aeolian set isn't half bad either, despite its reputation.

The Kodaly set is very good as well.

I have and thoroughly enjoy the Kodaly set. I was looking for an additional complete set on modern instruments.

If you are into FLAC I can let you have the complete Auryn set. Just PM me if interested.

(The offer is of course available for anyone interested, not just Ray).

Thank you for your kind, thoughtful and generous offer Andrei. I think I will pass for the time being. I have too many irons in the fire at the moment and too many internal listening projects.
