I'd say it will be worth it!

Well, I am bummed I missed the concert here in my city last month, although I wouldn't have been able to go due to other plans.  :'(

What are your thoughts on Cristiano Porqueddu? He seems to have a great amount of recordings of more or mainly "off the beaten path" guitar repertoire.  Yes, I know that Barrios Mangore is not "off the beaten path", but the complete works of his strike me as a little more so.

The only recording yet of his I have currently (just recently arrived so I have not listened to it yet), is Castelnuovo-Tedesco's Greeting Cards.

This warranted a separate post from the What are you Listening to......

This disc is superb! I'll be checking out other TACTUS releases as  this is fabulous sounding.

My very early purchase of the year 2025!!

Recommended to the classical guitar fans on this board!

In honor of @Franco_Manitobain I'm listening to the disc that got me into classical guitar: Christopher Parkening's In the Spanish Style

How thoughtful!  ;D

Heard a lot of great things about Parkening, but haven't heard any recordings of his yet.

Obviously, I am a bit partial, but I love his technique - it's very bare and sparse; I find him very articulate on the strings, which I like a lot - I like strumming, but I like how clean and smooth he is - it feels seamless. I find Parkening plays the guitar the way that Gould thought he played the piano (lol).

Hi, Ray! Looks enticing indeed, thanks for the tip. Returning the favor, here's something for you.

That looks interesting as well. Raffaele Carpino, who I reference above, also recorded some Legnani on the TACTUS label. Though I haven't sampled (yet)!

Been re-listening to these last week. Wonderful music and music-making. My favorites are No. 5 and No. 6.

By the way @Florestan I ordered this.

You'll love'em, I'm sure. Btw, there's also a more recent recording which I haven't listened to yet.

Has anyone done any comparisons amongst these two "complete" Barrios guitar recordings? At first, I thought only Porqueddu (which I've started to stream) had done so. Turns out, that isn't the case. He was preceded by Lemaigre!

There's also the Naxos series.

The second volume is not labeled as such, but that's what it is.

First time listening to Tom Salvatori's 1995 debut (I think) album: Under the Cover of Darkness

Stripped bare. Plucked and Strummed nylon. Recorded during a thunderstorm. Meditative. Contemplative. Lovely. :)
