Complete beginner - a little starter help with vocab and composers?

karl, Wikipedia has a list of 20th century composers arranged by birth date @ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_20th-century_classical_composers_by_birth_date  My list is a list of names I recognized from the list, and its maybe 1/50th of the total.  I have at least one work by each (almost) of these composers in my own CD collection.  After the first 20 or so which I put down from memory, I listed only those who are still alive or who died after 1970.
