You know he could be sixty and in school.  These two aren't mutually exclusive.  I know a guy that after he retired went to college and got a degree in physics. :)

Most likely explanation though: James is whoever he wants to be at the moment.  Easy for anonymous poster on the internet you know?

A lady who received her masters in the same year as me at CSULA was in her 80's. Good for her!

Based on the conduct on this board, James strikes me as a 60 year old that decided to go back to the 7th grade.   ::)

I would like to be that awesome when I'm her age.  But I'll probably be watching reruns of Dr Who all day ranting about how the golden age of tv has passed and now it's all reality tv or whatever the fad will be at that time. ;D

Probably a computer will generate a TV program customized to you in which you yourself are depicted surfing 20 foot faces at Mavricks and having sex with Britney Spears and Joan d'Arc, all while you sit vegetating in a chair sipping extract of Soylent green.  But this programming will be for 18 year olds, not for 80 year olds.   :P

When you are that age and you mention "Dr. Who", you might be diagnosed as having dementia.

Scarpia, I just imagine what Sarge or Sonic Dave preserved to be like 130 gross out great-grandkids by walking in on said simulations.  "Gross old people shouldn't think that way!!" ;D ;D

There's more than one James in the world.   8)

Yes, there is, but I know that this James is in his early 20s and was supposed to come to the United States for awhile to study music over here. Seeing what he's "currently listening to" underneath his avatar, I know it's him, because he's a fanatic about jazz like Miles and Monk and my few brief exchanges with him on this forum, which weren't all that pleasant, gave another obvious clue. This user has a way of saying things that are crass and very direct. I just couldn't mistake this user for anybody else.

Nah I'm too busy posting on this forum! :D  I see in the future talking to the youth of the future: "when I was young I posted on a forum!" "you mean a facebook page?" "No, this wasn't on facebook." "you mean there is internet beyond facebook? stop making up stories old man!" ;D

Lies! Oh wait, a world beyond Facebook? You must mean Twitter... ::)

I started posting in 1996 on newsgroups. This forum is like a luxury heaven compared to that! Especially with the kindly and helpful moderators. The newsgroups were unmoderated hell.  >:D

It would be OK if they were self-moderated, but they actually take 'unmoderated' to mean just that. ::)

Where is Elgarian?

Mike

I just had a nice chat with him; he's just back from holiday.  He says he owes you an e-mail msg, Mike.

Alright George, what happened? :(
EDIT: Wait, he's still here, he just made a new profile? Is there a number of posts you never want to reach, George? Got a girl who keeps tabs to make sure you aren't on GMG that much?  ;D

Using the same name and the avatar doesn't help all that much.

MN Dave

I think he might have gotten momentarily pissed at some ribbing at the expense of audiophiles, but that's a guess.
