I really miss Elgarian and Lethe.

Me too (totally agree. And btw Lethe/Sara is a female, strange how a misunderstanding could arise on that.  >:(

Another one that we really miss here, for over a year already, is Dundonnell (Colin). If he returns, I might be back again as well.  8)

And another BTW: after a couple of years more active members, me perhaps included, seem to shy away a bit from this forum because they choose to live a normal life again. Quite a natural thing to do after having spent too many hours here.  :-[

They're just taking a break and many will return soon or later - as they left their account intact and are probably once in a while reading these threads just to keep in touch.  :-X

(Well, I'm talking about myself too much  :-X :) 8) )
... music is not only an 'entertainment', nor a mere luxury, but a necessity of the spiritual if not of the physical life, an opening of those magic casements through which we can catch a glimpse of that country where ultimate reality will be found.    RVW, 1948

What, we're....abnormal?  ???

When I get out, in nine years eight months and seventeen days, i'll probably be too busy to post here. But until then i've nothing better to do than post here and listen to Copland. It passes the time and it's better than pacing up and down.

They've run off together?

Actually, James and Lethe disappeared on the same day. James just reappeared. Perhaps someone in authority should grill him on her whereabouts.

the phone rings and somebody says,
"hey, they made a movie about
Mahler, you ought to go see it.
he was as f*cked-up as you are."

If I'm not mistaken James is in school, so I can understand how this would tie up a lot of his time. I remember when I was in school, the Internet was the new thing, but alas, I didn't have Internet in those days, so I felt pretty left out when other people would talk about things like email or chatrooms. :D

For my 2000th post, I thought I would say a few words since this seems to be an appropriate thread for such an activity. I first want to tell those I've got into arguments with or belittled or just mouthed off to for no good reason that I'm sorry. None of you guys deserve my moody tongue lashings!

What I want to tell everybody next is that I have enjoyed my time on this forum so far and I hope that I can continue to contribute in some way.

Thanks for the always enlightening conversations about music everybody!  8)

Really? I thought he was in his sixties (not that it prevents someone from attending a university).

And with that thought the forum crashed! ;D

Perhaps this a sort of Midwich Cuckoo experience. A 'Day Out' and the forum members have been replaced....but by what?

I know James from another forum and this is what he has told me. Apparently he's in music school studying piano or something to that effect. He's also English.

There's more than one James in the world.   8)

You know he could be sixty and in school.  These two aren't mutually exclusive.  I know a guy that after he retired went to college and got a degree in physics. :)

Most likely explanation though: James is whoever he wants to be at the moment.  Easy for anonymous poster on the internet you know?
