Do it yesterday!  :)

Any chance of it cheaper elsewhere?

Maybe someday Amazon sellers will have it for cheaper?

Maciek

I think ordering it from Europe might be a good idea. You can get it in Poland for 59 PLN (21 USD) here or for 66 PLN (24 USD) here. Even with the steepest shipping prices should it be worthwhile...

(I got mine set from the first source - didn't even have to pay for the shipping, they have a real life outlet in Warsaw. :D)

Oh, it was about the price. Can't help you there, sorry.

Who plays on those?

Jaime Laredo - violin & Stephanie Brown - piano.
The recording is licensed from Dorian.

Thanks. I have been considering the Lupu/Goldberg set from Decca.

Anyone heard them?

Yes I heard them and bought them, and they are all good to excellent my friend.

Thielemann conducting Brahms Symphony #1 and Beethoven Egmont Overture, available May 8, 2007. I have a passion for this symphony and have several versions. I bought my first recording of the Brahms in 1956, Artur Rodzinsky conducting.

Otto Sauter, eh, Harry?

And they think it's easy to play a trumpet while trying to keep still in a hot skillet . . . .

Now, a question of my own.  What do folks here think of the Solti set of Haydn's London Symphonies?

Avoid. Worse than Jochum's with the LPO.

Fischer, Adam or Colin Davis recorded post-Robbins-Landon but Beecham finds as much wit in these works as any, although, he used inauthentic editions.

Right, that is indeed somethig different of what I made of it, according to my dictionary. ;D

Not your fault, Harry; though I've corrected it now, my grammar and spelling were atrocious in my original post.
