All this was brought about when a friend emailed me, asking if I might be bipolar because of these cycles of being present in the rat race versus hiding in my shed. I told him I don't think a pill will help this or that I'd even want it to.

Some friends give crappy email, BTW.  Maria was just telling me how a friend was trying to "advise" her on "marketing" her art, only the "advice" was really in the form of Why do you paint flowers? Real artists don't paint flowers.

To paraphrase the Baron, his "advice" was lies and balderdash. Yet, he quite possibly imagined that he was being helpful.

Oh, he meant well. I'm certain of that. He's quite the gentleman. I only enjoy hanging out with gentlemen, though sometimes I forget to be one myself. 

I shan't give up music though, if that's what anyone is thinking. It serves as a balm for me. A very important balm...
