After work on putting electricity cables (40 meters) into the ground, and having some sensible light in the back garden, Telemann is a good way to unwind, plus a wee dram of the Makers Mark, a soft delicious bourbon. My bottle of Highland Park of 18 years old is empty, more quickly as I thought it would. :)

Ditch the high stretched wailings of Sintow, bring in Janowitz and Outstanding would be the word....great set, wrong choice on the 4LS.
I already had Fleming/Thielemann and Isokoski/Janowski so I don't really need more Fours.

Violin recital

EDIT: For these show pieces I find him a bit tame. His Bach solo violin sonata was much more interesting.

You got two of the great ones there, love the Isokoski.

Is this my favorite recording of the Symphonie Fantastique?  Unsure, but it's in the running! :

Indeed, just listened to her Im abendrot, gorgeous recording. Now listening to her Luonnotar with Neeme Järvi & Gothenburg SO. She works at the Oulu Uni. of Appl. Sciences now, I expect that dad will get all of our recordings signed..  8)

Excellent!!  She really does have a beautiful vocal, lyrical and lovingly alluring....as is all her Strauss.

I may have that . . . and if I do, I don't think I've heard it.  What's your opinion, Karlo?

My experience with Klára Würtz has been uniformly positive so far. I love her Schumann 3CD set. How is that disc?

now playing, some sizzling Gluck (Don Juan) on an otherwise Haydn CD:

And for dessert, Haydn's First!
