Various bits of piano at various times this evening...

Schubert, 12 German Dances D.790 (Brendel)
Dvorak, 2 Minuets* (Poroshina)
Prokofiev, Toccata in D minor, op.11 (Raekallio)

*Even contemporary reviewers said they didn't actually sound like Minuets.

Mostly transcription of lute, flute, violin suites and partitas to the harpsicord+the italian concerto

I like Rondeau touch on the harpsicord a lot.  I am interested to hear him on genuine Bach works for the harpsicord.

Definitely an aspect that will divide opinions!  :) The point of departure here is a primary role for the harpsichord(s), with all other instruments as accompaniment. As opposed to music for chamber orchestra  with a "concertante" role for the harpsichords...
I know and can appreciate that, but I'm still not completely satisfied with the recorded sound, or balance, or whatever. The orchestra (or instrumental accompagnment) isn't recorded transparently enough IMO. I feel that Schoonderwoerds wonderful, and slightly similarly conceived, Beethoven concertos are far more successful in that regard.

Another performance of the 8th symphony, and one of the best...I would say.

Looks like fun, Spineur. Thanks for posting.  ;)

Elegant, smooth and refined.  Superb sonics, but I would prefer a bit of bite and grit to the whole thing.  Still, very fine.  :)
